Our Training Manager Wayne Phillips has been delivering high quality interactive training since 2011. Prior to this, Wayne was a Registered Domiciliary Care Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for our parent company Select Lifestyles Limited.

Formerly from a manufacturing and fabricating background, Wayne changed career in 2003 to work as a support worker within a leading West Midlands care company.

Following this, Wayne joined Birmingham based Select Lifestyles Limited, who support adults with learning disabilities. As a natural leader, Wayne was formally appointed as Team Leader just six months after joining the team. After twelve months of excelling in this role, Wayne became the Day Centre Manager, expanding the team to support 25 service users with a staff of 20. The day centre gained an excellent reputation withing Birmingham and the West Midlands, for providing an innovative service and activities that included canoeing, archery and rock climbing.

As the company expanded, Select Lifestyles Limited entered the supported living sector, Wayne was tasked with the role of registered CQC Manager and oversaw the opening of 5 large supported living services alongside four smaller offerings, including one on Oberon Grove which Wayne still takes an active role in managing today. Under Wayne’s management, which spanned 2012 – 2017, our supported living services achieved a CQC good rating on four separate occasions.

Wayne began delivering training in 2011 after becoming a qualified MAPA instructor with the Crisis Prevention Institute. Over the next five years Wayne was enrolled on numerous ‘train the trainer’ courses accredited by NUCO, ready for his current role of Training Manager.
